Renovating with Outdoor Dining in MindA lot of running can take place between the outdoor area and the kitchen for dining. This includes: collecting plates, cutlery, items from the fridge, condiments, etc. When you renovate with dining in mind, try to position your outside dining area as close to the kitchen as possible. It will make things easier both when preparing for guests and cleaning up at the end of the night. Here are a few things to consider:

What Style You Want Like Need- Whether you desire a minimalist modern look, a tropical oasis or a laid-back Aussie barbecue area, designing is important.

Your design should complement your lifestyle. A couple that entertain on a balcony may use tropical orchids, a delicate bamboo water feature and a Korean barbecue, but that is virtually impossible in a large backyard full of action-packed kids and pets. Your style should be a mix of what you like, what you want and what you need.

  1. Consider Your Table Choices- This is a piece of furniture as it will be in constant use, particularly during the warmer seasons, so the outdoor setting is likely to be an important piece of furniture. You can find current styles of tables and chairs that are made of high-tech materials. These are long-lasting, easy to clean and well-priced.Teak is a popular option since it has a strong universal appeal. You can find an extensive selection to fit your needs.

Size is a priority when selecting a table. If you want plenty of room when friends and family settle in, you may feel the bigger the better. If you have a small area, however, you want to get a table that fits into your plan effectively.

  2. Determine Outdoor Seating Needs- A mix of seating options is a good idea to have for the outdoor area. To accommodate numerous guests, bench seating works really well. It’s great for the children as well. There are times when you’ll want the support of a straight-backed chair. To suit the number of people dining, these can be easily moved around.Comfort is important. Timber chairs and benches may be beautiful, but they can get uncomfortable after a while. A large selection of cushions can extend the life of a get-together by hours. Waterproof material and quick drying foam allows them to be left outside without being damaged by the elements.Remember, too many chairs can clutter up the dining area, even though you need enough for guests. Keep a few stackable, folding chairs tucked away in the garage. That way, no-one has to go without a seat, and the backyard looks neat and tidy.

  3. Barbecues— A Personal Decision- There are so many options, it can make your head spin: gas, electric, mains-connected, roasting hood, two-burner, six-burner, wok cooker, etc.It is a most personal choice, so personalize it. If you are just a burger-for-the-kids type of cook, a simple hot-plate will work fine. If you create barbecued feasts, then a more top-of-the-line option is required.

There are other things you need to consider, but these tips will get you started on the right track and help you create a backyard paradise.
