Tips to Renovate and Transform your Bathroom for Design, Building, and Bath WareThe bathroom is one of the most used rooms in your home. It’s also, usually the smallest. This can make renovation difficult. Here are a few tips to help transform it:

  • Design
    • Compile a list of things you need, and things you’d love to have. The essentials will include things such as a good-sized bath and storage. If you can fit them in the budget you’d love maybe a rain shower or under-floor heating.
    • A clean, uncluttered layout with clever storage will make your bathroom larger and welcoming. You should make the most of every inch by adding recessed storage and cabinets with mirrored fronts.
    • A neutral color scheme gives the illusion of more space even in the tiniest bathroom. If you want a pop of color, use vibrant accessories and bath towels. These can be easily updated every few years for a new look.

  • Building basics
    • Cheapest isn’t always the best when choosing the builder and his team. Things like: workmanship, dedication, management skills, availability and communication skills are priorities when making up your mind. You should ask for the builder’s references. If you see the builder’s previous work experience and hear the owners’ opinions, it will help make a wise decision.
    • If you don’t have a second working bathroom when renovating, moving out may be inevitable for a few weeks. It may be necessary to move in with friends or family for a few weeks. If you can’t do that, you may need a motel, and you’ll need to build this into your budget when planning your renovation project. There may be costs as well during that time, such as take-outfood and laundry costs.
    • Make sure you block all doorways to adjacent rooms with plastic. Work sites are usually dusty and dirty. This will insure dust doesn’t make its way into other areas of your home.

  • Bath Ware choices
    • There are large numbers of shower systems on the market. Research them before you buy. Various options include showers: on rail, hand showers, fixed showers, or overhead rain showers.
    • A clear shower screen can make your bathroom feel more spacious. You may also consider a frameless shower screen or the hotel-style “wet room” look—no screen at all.
    • Freestanding bath tubs blend the charm of old-world with modern high-tech materials.
    • A wall-hung toilet suite can be put below the vanity. This maximizes floor space. There’s no need to modify the existing wall structure, since it’s built out from the wall. The only visible features are the designer buttons and pan.
    • Contemporary storage systems for a vanity are a must. They may come with wire racks mounted inside the doors, trash containers, towel racks, and tilt-out drawers. These are all designed to help you access toiletries and appliances quickly.
    • It will help you speed up your morning routine, if you find a heated and illuminated mirror that will resist fogging up. There’s no waiting time for the mirror to clear before doing make-up or shaving.
